Mom's Soul Food Kitchen & Catering is a casual soul food restaurant at 1507 Goodfellow Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112. The restaurant serves hearty American comfort food with a strong focus on chicken, fish, pork, turkey, beef, homestyle sides, desserts, breakfast plates, takeout, delivery, and catering.

From my visit and research across public restaurant pages, Mom's Soul Food Kitchen & Catering feels warm, familiar, and local. The dining style is casual, with free parking and easy online ordering. It suits lunch, dinner, family meals, workday plates, weekend cravings, and anyone looking for food that feels close to a home kitchen.

Fried chicken is one of the main dishes tied to the restaurant. The platter format usually comes with two sides, cornbread, and water, which makes the meal feel complete. The chicken gives diners a simple soul food classic: crisp edges, seasoned meat, and a plate that pairs well with baked mac and cheese, candied yams, greens, or beans.

Oxtails are another standout for guests who like deep, slow-cooked flavor. The meat has a rich taste and a tender texture that works best with rice, gravy, beans, or vegetables. Turkey wings bring a similar comfort-food feel, with a softer bite and a sauce-friendly profile. Beef brisket, baked chicken, BBQ chicken, pork steaks, smothered pork chops, and fried fish add more choice for diners who want a full plate.

The side dishes help shape the meal. Baked mac and cheese is one of the strongest picks, creamy and filling enough to stand beside any meat plate. Candied yams add sweetness, collard greens bring a more classic Southern bite, and white northern beans give the menu a softer comfort side. Cornbread rounds out many platters with a warm, slightly sweet finish.

Desserts make Mom's Soul Food Kitchen & Catering feel extra homestyle. Peach cobbler and banana pudding are top picks across delivery pages. Lemon cake, caramel cake, chocolate cake, and German chocolate cake give the dessert case more range. A slice of cake after fried chicken or turkey wings feels like a natural ending to the meal.

Breakfast adds another reason to visit. Pancake platters, French toast platters, smothered chicken wings, smothered pork chops, fried pork chops, grits, oatmeal, eggs, omelets, and breakfast meats give the restaurant a morning rhythm.

Mom's Soul Food Kitchen & Catering is a strong St. Louis pick for fried chicken, oxtails, turkey wings, pork steaks, baked mac and cheese, candied yams, peach cobbler, banana pudding, and comforting soul food on Goodfellow Blvd.

My recent order was meant to feature smothered pork steak, lasagna, and dressing, but the meal that arrived was quite a letdown. Instead of the lasagna I had anticipated, I received mac and cheese, which unfortunately had a strong, vinegary taste. The dressing was equally disappointing, completely lacking any seasoning and tasting utterly bland. To make matters worse, the smothered pork steak, which was supposed to be the highlight of my meal, arrived noticeably undercooked. As someone who is 8 months pregnant, this entire experience left me feeling incredibly disappointed. It's a stark contrast to the consistently good food I've enjoyed from the Delmar location.

My recent meal, which was delivered today, unfortunately fell short of expectations. Not only was my order incorrect, but the chicken itself arrived cold and completely lacked any flavor or seasoning. My decision to order again was solely based on a fantastic first experience, which I had even bragged about to others. This time, when I ordered for both myself and a friend, the food tasted nothing like that memorable first visit. The only redeeming part of our entire order was the Mac n Cheese. Given the significant amount of money I spent, this level of disappointment is truly unacceptable. Thank you, but no thank you.

After a marathon of Gordon Ramsay's vintage UK Kitchen Nightmares, a powerful craving for Shepherd's Pie struck, leading me straight to Mom's Soul Food Kitchen & Catering via Uber Eats. My order quickly grew beyond just the pie, which I customized with extra potatoes and greens with turkey, to include fried chicken wings, mac and cheese, potato salad, and a generous array of sides: yams, lasagna, green beans, black-eyed peas, rice, and to top it all off, banana pudding. Every single dish was a revelation; the magnificent flavors and the undeniable love infused into the cooking were truly astounding, making for a superb feast that will easily provide several satisfying meals. Having spent nearly two decades in the culinary industry, I possess a keen understanding of what constitutes quality ingredients, authentic taste, and most importantly, the profound emotional connection great food should inspire. This meal was so exceptional that I personally called the restaurant to convey it was among the finest I've enjoyed in a long time, even amidst a week filled with other excellent dining experiences. I'm incredibly thankful to have such a gem right here in my hometown; we truly are blessed in "the Lou" with our Cardinals Baseball, Blues Hockey, and now, Mom's Soul Food. I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing it for yourself.

My experience with the ribs was quite disappointing; they contained an excessive amount of fat and charred pieces, overshadowing the actual meat. The greens had a peculiar sweet and sour taste that strongly brought to mind a canned product. As for the macaroni, it was notably bland; while technically edible, it felt more like plain noodles simply coated in cheese rather than a thoughtfully prepared dish.

Eeh.. dressing was good to me but the celery in it was way too thick & that threw me off. Turkey greens were a no & the rib tips were a little tough as well. I did find the staff to be funny though. My dude threw his entire plate away after like 2 bites.
